Confirmation

After studying the Ten Commandments, the confirmation students went on a field trip to Orion Archery, where they learned just how tough it is to “hit the mark.”

Confirmation Ministry is a relational and educational ministry of the Church in which young people are given the encouragement and tools to affirm their faith which began at baptism.

During the two-year program which normally begins in the 7th grade, the students study:

  • the 10 Commandments
  • the Apostle’s Creed
  • the Lord’s Prayer
  • the meaning of Baptism
  • the meaning of Holy Communion

while adult mentors provide encouragement and examples of their own faith journey for the youth.

The course concludes with the students making a personal faith statement which is reviewed by members of the Church Council.
